Spending the month of July 2011 in Egypt was a transformative experience. As one of 11 participants (and the only visual creative) representing Roger Williams University, I processed my days through photography. We weren't sure we were going to be able to travel due to the State Department's travel ban after the Arab Spring. The ban was lowered in late May and we arrived July 3rd. The first Friday of July the Tent cities were re-erected and the protests resumed. We were under constant police protection during the days and told not to be alone in the evenings. It was challenging to say the least for someone who has a wanderlust. I spent about 4 months designing the book which includes approximately 600 images from the 28 days into 200+ pages organized by color.
